Summer Iowa Wedding

I was able to meet Jayna and Ryan for our first session together in 2022. We met for their engagement portraits at Ledges State Park at sunrise, a ways away from Prairie du Chien where I'm located, but I could tell from the start that they were going to be a fun and exciting couple to shoot!

Fast forward eight months to the day Mr. and Mrs. Eganhouse would say “I Do”.

The Wild Rose Casino and Hotel in Clinton hosted the wedding party as they primped and prepped for the celebration. I began by stealing a moment alone with Jayna’s dress, veil, shoes, their rings, invitations, champagne, flowers, and jewelry, grabbing some beautiful detail shots.

Then, I popped in to say hey to Ryan as he and his groomsmen finished getting ready. Back across the hall in Jayna’s room, her mom zipped her up and buttoned her in, placing her veil carefully into her gorgeous updo.

After everyone was dressed and ready to take on the day, I led Ryan downstairs and out back of the Wild Rose with Jayna carefully trailing behind. First, they did a traditional first look, then another with Bella (Jayna and Ryan's four legged babe). It came as no surprise to me when Bella stole the show, ecstatic to see mom and dad finally tying the knot! (To see more cute photos of Bella, check out Ryan and Jayna's engaegment session here)

Next up was a short trip to Long Grove where the couple would wed at St. Ann's Catholic Church. First was the signing of the marriage papers.

Guests trickled in, filling the pews group by small group until there was a sea of the Eganhouse's closest family and friends filling the church. The groom led immediate family members to their seats before the wedding party began down the isle, followed by the bride and her father. The ceremony was personal, light hearted, and included beautiful music as well as touching scriptures.

After the "I Do"s, this group was ready to celebrate! And what better way to do so than with a party bus? They rented 3 Guys and a Bus. It was a BLAST to capture all of the dancing, laughing, drinking, and singing.

We stopped at Westbrook Park in Dewitt for some additional portraits.

Next stop: Murphy's Pub for some refreshments and relaxation before the real party at the reception.

After a few drinks, the bus took us to our last stop: The Vista Grande (Clinton, Iowa) for the wedding reception. As you can imagine, the day got more fun and relaxed as the hours wore on, everyone loosening up and switching over to their dancing shoes!

Jayna and Ryan along with their DJ also had the great idea to participate in the "Take a Photo With Every Guest Group Before the Song Ends" trend. I don't think I stopped laughing the entire song as I ran around chasing the luxurious wedding dress and fancy suit, the whole room of done up guests scrambling to get their table ready for the bride and groom's brief stop.

Everything about Jayna and Ryan’s wedding was exactly as I’d imagined it would be after getting to know them. Their day was romantic, down to earth, and a heck of a good time. Worth every bit of the drive from Prarie du Chien, WI!

It's always a goal of mine to grab a quick photo with the bride and groom before heading home for the night. And I'm always so glad when I'm able to do it!

We also gave another trend a try (that TikTokers might recognize), where we passed around Jayna's glasses and I snapped a photo of each person wearing the sparkly blue shades
