David texted me a couple weeks before his proposal to Marin at Pikes Peak State Park in McGregor, Iowa asking if I’d secretly capture it; easily a HECK YES!!! We chatted back and forth for a while, creating the perfect plan to surprise Marin, and chose a beautiful, intimate spot down the main path. I arrived to the park shortly after them, and watched as they walked through Pikes Peak since David had shared his phone location with me.
Once I saw they were headed to the proposal spot, I started heading that way, too. D+M were listening to music as they walked, and David played a song special to Marin as he prepared to ask her to be his wife. Her reaction was so so sweet, and it was immediately obvious to me how in love they were.
After the big question, we dove into an engagement session as they kept exploring Pikes Peak. We continued through the park, stopping at all the lookouts, and heading to Bridal Veil Falls.
We turned around after checking out the falls, and stopped back at the proposal location for some more fun shots to celebrate at the spot they officially became engaged.
Lastly, we stopped back at the main Pikes Peak Scenic Overlook for a few more intimate moments between the two lovers.
This was SUCH a fun shoot, and the perfect way to get true emotion into their gallery! A huge bonus of going right from the proposal to the engagement session was that they had an hour of time to spend together, no phones, just enjoying the moment of their engagement. Plus the obvious benefit of having the proposal captured! Thank you, and congratulations David and Marin!
